Roles and Responsibilities



  1. What Team Members can expect of MOST Ministries

    • It is you, the team members who go on the mission teams and use your gifts and talents to serve Christ in foreign lands that make what we do possible, and we do not diminish that in any way. But, it is also important for us to be good stewards of our time and to maximize our serve to Christ to reach the greatest numbers of fields with short term mission teams. In order for both of us to accomplish our goals, we feel that it is important for both of us to utilize the gifts and willingness of the Church Liaisons. Please continue on and read the section titled "Roles and Responsibilites of the Church Liaison." Thank You!
    • However, MOST Ministries is available to team members at all times for any questions and concerns that are of a personal nature. It is our goal is to enable you to make the best decisions for you so you can serve Christ and the field to the best of your ability.

  2. What the Church Liaison can expect of MOST Ministries

    • To be available to the Church Liaison for telephone and/or email consultation, and also to church leadership and team members, as needed.
    • To be the communications link between your team and the foreign field.
    • To make final determinations along with the foreign field as to location, dates and service of mission.
    • To inform Church Liaison of any changes and developments regarding the mission trip.
    • To provide suggestions for any materials needed for execution of mission service (crafts, witnessing tools, etc.).
    • To make all international and ‘on field' travel arrangements.
    • To make all ‘on field' food and lodging arrangements.
    • To acquire and provide foreign travel health insurance for team members.
    • To provide all necessary team training materials.
    • To provide a trained MOST Ministries Team Leader to lead travel and on field mission.

  3. What The Team can expect of the MOST Ministries Team Leader

    • To be experienced in cross cultural ministry.
    • To be spiritually prepared.
    • To be culturally prepared, the team leader will have a viable knowledge of the culture and its customs.
    • To be logistically prepared, the team leader will carry out all logistics throughout travel and while on the field.
    • To be prepared for the unexpected, to react calmly and responsibly to unexpected changes and to coordinate necessary adjustments.
    • To be aware of, and sensitive to, needs, the team leader will attempt to be aware of the needs of the team and the host missionary or nationals. It is impossible to meet all needs, but they are responsible to discern priorities.
    • To be a spiritual leader, the team leader will facilitate team devotions on the field.
    • To be a gift releaser, will look for opportunities to use the gifts of every team member.
    • To be a communicator with the team, the team leader will pass on information to the team regarding plans and discussions with the host missionary or national. While on the field, the team leader will arrange for daily team meetings where information about changes and logistics will be shared and discussed.
    • To be a decision maker, the team leader has the responsibility to make all decisions for the team. They will work closely with the host missionary or national, and will rely on their knowledge and understanding of the on-field situation. Some decisions may be made that the team member, who at the time does not have a full picture of all the factors involved, may not understand.
    • To be a strong leader when traveling, traveling is one of the biggest jobs for a team leader. Keeping a large group together and organized is quite a task. We want everyone to depart and arrive together!
    • To be a dependent prayer warrior, to pray, acknowledging dependence upon God for themselves, the team members, the host missionary or nationals, the people whom you will be serving and for all of the logistics.

  4. Roles and Responsibilities of a Church Liaison:

    • To recruit prayer support for yourself and the planning process.
    • To be the primary liaison between your church, your team and MOST Ministries.
    • To have a servant's heart.
    • To be flexible.
    • To be a role model for your team members in all aspects of servanthood; to each other, to the team as a whole, to the missionary or national host, to whose whom you will serve, to the leadership and decisions of the MOST Ministries' Team Leader.
    • To be an encourager.
    • To be a discipler.
    • To be a communicator to team members, church leadership and congregation regarding information received from MOST Ministries.
    • To work with the Church Business Manager/Treasurer to receive team member payments and to send one check to MOST Ministries for each payment due.
    • To recruit team members or other individuals to share responsibilities such as: church PR fund-raising country/culture research recruiting team member prayer warriors planning the report back to congregation etc. etc.
    • To plan and facilitate pre-field team training meetings.
    • To cooperate with and support the MOST Ministries' Team Leader in all decisions made on the team's behalf.

  5. Roles and Responsibilities of the Team Member


    • To have a servant's heart.
    • To read the Team Training Manual in its entirety.
    • To complete the Servanthood Bible Study.
    • To attend and participate in any and all team meetings scheduled by MOST Ministries or your Church Liaison.
    • To be flexible, assuming that nothing will go as planned.
    • To cooperate with, and support, the MOST Ministries' Team Leader in all decisions made on the team's behalf.
    • To hold team unity and the needs of those we are there to serve as more important than self.
    • To pray for yourself, your team, your team leader, your host missionary or national, and the people whom you will serve.
