Who We Are:
"Empowering The Found in Reaching The Lost"
Who or What is MOST Ministries?
Mission Opportunities Short Term (MOST Ministries) is an independent short
term Christian mission agency that faciliates interested and committed
Christians from all over the United States who are looking for opportunities
to live out their Faith by serving Lutheran Church Missouri Synod missionaries,
partner churches and related charitable oganizations throughout the world.
MOST strives to meet the requests of the foreign field through one or
more of our team divisions; Regular, Professional and Congregational.
For one to three weeks these teams of 10-30 people work with the local
pastor or missionary to meet their specific needs.
Why short term mission teams? These teams allow energetic Christians to experience what God is doing in other cultures and in the lives of people in foreign countries, even though they cannot make the same commitment that a career missionary makes. A mission team of short term volunteers working together toward a specified goal is an effective way of responding to His call, telling of His love and supplying the needs of His people. Mission opportunities of one or two weeks are designed for Christians with a passion for living out their Faith, caring for God's people of the world, and participating in reflecting God's love and extending His Kingdom wherever possible.
Who can join a mission team? Teams are made up of energenic Christians from all walks of life, ages 12 to 80, willing to share many different types of skills and interests. Preparation for team participation includes a commitment to God for Spiritual guidance and prayer, completion of an indepth servant oriented Bible Study and training designed for each specific project.
Is Evangelism always a part of MOST Ministries Mission Projects? At all times MOST Ministries staff, leaders, and team members are ready to give reason for their hope and their labors. Our Faith is never denied. Christian education is included in our mission work whenever appropriate and desired by the community we are serving. In some countries, formal public evangelism is forbidden by government policy which we fully respect.
